The Tatsu Roller Coaster is located in the Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park in the Samurai Summit section of the park, Tatsu translated from Japanese to English means “Dragon”, the name really does explain the style of this awesome coaster. Can you imagine the way a playful dragon would fly and swoop around in the air, if you can imagine that you are imagining the type of ride you would experience on this wonderful contraption. The ride on this wild beast lasts a whopping 3 minutes and 30 seconds, 3 minutes of this time is “flight time”, the rest of it is preparation for the flight ahead of you.
The Tatsu Roller Coaster being fast (62 mp/h or 100 kp/h) can provide a thrill riddled adrenalin rush for 1,600 people per hour, every hour these 1,600 people will be subjected to awesome g-forces that threaten to make you black out and maybe even make you loose your candy floss from the sweetie stand 10 minutes ago.
The big boys at Six Flags Magic Mountain really did out do them selves with this wonderful attraction, it really should be good when it cost’s a mind bending 21 million dollars to design and build. The structure the designed incorporates a total height reaching 170 feet or 52 meters which is enough to make the people on the floor look like ants, the coaster also has a maximum drop of 112 feet or 34 meters which is enough to leave your stomach in your mouth! Tatsu also has 4 inversions which have been placed in just the right places to make you feel like you are really flying in the sky without a care in the world like a dragon would. All this speed coupled with the heights and drops will achieve a g-force of 4.1 which is enough to make some people black out, if it doesn’t make you black out it will certainly mash up your face so you look like a bug!
If you miss the train theres no need to worry since there are 3 trains running all the time, you can even hit the coaster and go straight on again if you like it enough, we dont recommend this unless your a hardcore roller coaster fanatic that can take the fast twists and turns that threaten to make you puke and or black out!
Over all we can say one thing, if your in the area and you have the chance to ride the Dragon (Tatsu)… Do it! You will most certainly regret not going for a ride on this mighty beast!
