To ride the Superman Krypton Coaster you will need to travel to Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. Only but the best theme park in the world! The ride is manufactured by the great Bollinger & Mabillard and it is one of four floorless coasters to open in the year 2000, which cost a staggering 20,000,000 million US dollars to build. Superman stands at a huge 168 feet tall with a lift hill and helical drop spreading over a neighboring cliff. You would most probably like to know that one of its features is the largest 360 degree vertical loop in the world at 145 feet. This is going on my list!
Superman Krypton coaster is quite a long ride! Its track length is a large 4025 feet and it reaches a top speed of 70 mph, which makes it the fastest floorless roller coaster that Bollinger & Mabillard have ever made. The ride has an awesome six inversions, but from what the people have been told, they are looking to redesign and add another 2 inversions.
The coaster has been open since March 11th, 2000 and although the ride was manufactured by Bollinger and Mabillard, it was designed by Werner Stengel. The coaster clearly stands out with its classic superman red track with superman blue column supports. There are 3 trains that are blue and red with yellow restraints, which are horse collar restraints. Oh yes, you will definitely feel safe in the horse collar restraints!
One of the down sides about most roller coasters is they don’t last very long. Am I wright? I have noticed that the duration of the Superman Krypton Coaster last for a cool 3.22 minutes. It makes you feel like your long queue ride was well worth it.
When riders take their seats in the 4 abreast rowed floorless trains, they leave around a 90 degree bend and a hit the lift hill. Ascending right up and over the quarry wall at the top it will begin its first carousel curving dive at only 6 stories above the ground. Trains then plummet the full 170 feet down to the bottom of the quarry and begin ascending into the 124 foot high loop with Superman standing proudly on top. Next, the course sends adventurers back up the cliff and around 370 degree helix at the top. A Zero G roll follows immediately and sends the track warped head over heels twice in the 8 story tall cobra roll. An upwards S-turn leads into the mid-course block brakes but not for long. A pair of interlocking corkscrews sends the superhero’s trains into the final portion of the ride, concluding with a sharp banked 180 degree twist onto the break run.
