Intamin from Switzerland  come to the rescue again and have built the amazingly fast Intimidator 305 for the Kings Dominion theme park in Doswell, Virginia, USA . This outstanding roller coaster stands in at a whopping 305 feet or 93 meters, as you can imagine such a tall coaster will reach high speeds, these speeds are a maximum of 90 mp/h or a staggering 140 km/h, it is the tallest, fastest and arguably the the roller coast in the entire theme park.

The Intimidator 305 roller coaster has a first drop of 300 feet (91 m), with a mind boggling descent reaching an angle of 85 degrees. The massive lift-hill structure for Intimidator 305 is unique and scary enough to wet yourself before you even start the high speed thrills. The balance of the ride’s track consists of Intamin’s new double-spine track, which allows for longer spans with fewer supports, particularly on crest curves. The ride provides five air-time humps and three near-ground levels high-speed turns which give the ride an extra high speed feel to it.

Let me explain it a little better for you so you can picture the ride in your mind. While the train is being loaded in the station, the catch car of the cable lift will latch onto the middle car of the train. Once the train is dispatched from the Intimidator 305 station, it ascends the 45 degree lift at a slow pace of 15 miles per hour (24 km/h) to a maximum height of 305 feet (93 m). Once the train crests the top of the lift, the train descends down the 300-foot (91 m) 85 degree drop reaching massive speeds of nearly 90 miles per hour (140 km/h), the feeling is truly amazing to say the least. The train dives into a high-g, low to the ground 270 degree turn before ascending the second 150-foot (46 m) tall parabolic hill providing moments of airtime that are designed to make the passengers feel weightlessness, this feeling can also make the passengers feel like they will fall out of the seats for an extra scare. The train then descends into a high speed bunny hop before entering another high speed turn, you might loose your lunch if you’re not careful at this point. The vehicle then maneuvers through 3 sharp twists before entering the final high speed turn, and when we say high speed it really is high speed… no messing about here! The train then climbs a 75-foot (23 m) airtime hill again with the feeling of weightlessness, followed by another airtime hill before entering a final twist before climbing a small, twisty bunny hop into the magnetic brakes.
